Artist statement: “Painting gives me a sense of freedom and peace whether I’m outside with nature or in the studio painting a memory. I find inspiration in almost everything but am recently inspired by memories of my childhood growing up in the country. I am drawn to light, shadows, and atmosphere. When I choose to paint a subject, it’s moved me in some way or another. I hope that my work will awaken an emotion in the viewer as well.“

Artist statement: ARTIST'S STATEMENT. All art is a form of language; successful art communicates ideas and emotions as well as images. Most landscape painters feel driven to paint because we want other people to understand not just what we see, but what we sense and feel when looking at our world. Anyone who can take a casual snapshot, or who's trained in basic drawing, can capture the look of a place. Representational artists are driven by the need to distill the atmosphere and mood of a place - and a mom

Artist statement: This architectural ruin, tucked away in a little, side street at the top of the hill behind the old city hospital, struck me as a fascinating collection of shapes and patterns, surmounted with wrought iron and garnished with cast concrete urns. More interesting in its decay as an art motif than it perhaps was in its prime as a functional structure.

Artist statement: This old church was just begining a renovation when I visited in 1972 in preparation for the 500th anniversary of the "voyage". The raking light caught my eye; not to mention the vigilant stork who made a home in the bell tower.

In photography you learn with every image, every subject you photograph and every image you post process. Nature, Landscape and Wildlife are my favorite challenges in photography. Sunsets with Dramatic skies are some of my favorites images.
