Artist statement: Photography - Imperfections - Moments of Grace - Gorgeous Light - Up Close and Personal I love taking photos then reimagining them during the editing process. It’s always the light that attracts me first. I will stop what I’m doing, pull my car over, or drive to something on the horizon to photograph.what I see. I like the imperfections, things that are a little undone not something perfect. Life just as it is.

Artist statement: ARTIST STATEMENT MARSHA GLEASON I am feeling a true urgency to paint now—- from instinct, observation, and gut responses— in the practice of Direct Oil Painting. Painting for me reveals: searches and surprises, methods from master teachers, sensibilities and masses of paint. The figure is most compelling to me, as is the paint itself. Together, they give attention to things that matter. It’s all in there, and I’m all in.

Artist statement: I was born in The Netherlands, raised in New York, and presently paint in my home studio in Uxbridge, MA. In 2006 I set a goal to complete a painting a day making small works more affordable to collectors. As the body of work developed, a pattern began to emerge revealing mainly still-life subjects. Although my work is not limited to the still life genre, I have learned that still life subjects translate well into a small painting format. They challenge me to dig deeper into the details.

Artist statement: In the process of discovering myself as a painter, I found that a painting acts as a talisman — bringing you back to you — whether that is the restorative enjoyment of a landscape, a favorite vacation, or family home. Or it’s the discovering of a personal connection in someone’s portrait. That is the heart in my work: creating the bridge between your memories and experiences, which is foundational for restoring joy and tranquility to your life.

Artist statement: I live in New England and have been doing landscape photography for the last ten years. From the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont to the seacoast locations in Maine and Massachusetts, I look for iconic locations during the best seasons with incredible light. I also strive to include a story in each image in order to communicate the feel of this beautiful part of the world.

Artist statement: Some point telescopes upward towards the heavens. Others look down at the universe revealed within the lens of a microscope. Mystery and beauty can be discovered in every direction that we look. As Henry David Thoreau once stated, “It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see”. I still manage to discover overlooked and often unseen snippets of beauty within the small, natural worlds that still survive in my area.

Artist statement: Heavily influenced by natural materials, I often starts with a wooden board instead of a traditional canvas. Using bold brushstrokes and plenty of Linseed oil I play with familiar shapes and light to create different personas. Using a combination of materials and textures, my fashion and textile inspired artwork aims to capture the outward beauty and the inner mysteries of human beings.

Artist statement: “Painting gives me a sense of freedom and peace whether I’m outside with nature or in the studio painting a memory. I find inspiration in almost everything but am recently inspired by memories of my childhood growing up in the country. I am drawn to light, shadows, and atmosphere. When I choose to paint a subject, it’s moved me in some way or another. I hope that my work will awaken an emotion in the viewer as well.“

Artist statement: ARTIST'S STATEMENT. All art is a form of language; successful art communicates ideas and emotions as well as images. Most landscape painters feel driven to paint because we want other people to understand not just what we see, but what we sense and feel when looking at our world. Anyone who can take a casual snapshot, or who's trained in basic drawing, can capture the look of a place. Representational artists are driven by the need to distill the atmosphere and mood of a place - and a mom
