Artist statement: My chosen images are the people who populate our world and the structures that we have created. Inspired by the Ashcan School, I see the value of the working class, the commonplace, and the often overlooked. My favorite subjects are people who are apart. Not apart from the world, but from other people or groups as I see myself in these solitary figures. I present the viewer with my experiences while working within the parameters of realism and western composition.
Specific medium: Watercolor on Paper

Artist statement: I think that it is great fun to look at ordinary subjects that we all see every day and through the photographic process make the subject very special. I look for the common place and I try to show it to the viewer in an interesting and enlightening way. I think that we all need to appreciate what immediately surrounds us – this is what I try to do with my photography. And I do this hoping that people will begin to see the extraordinary in the ordinary subjects of everyday life.

Meagan Fedigan
$125.00

Artist statement: Daffodils are one of the first flowers to pop up in the spring: strong and determined to break through that layer of snow to face the sunshine. Each year I look forward to seeing those beautiful little faces brightening up my yard after the white of winter. I find myself drawn to flowers, something both strong and delicate simultaneously. I love to get close up to see the texture of each individual petal and watch the flower open and bloom.

Artist statement: I typically do not consider myself a portrait photographer, but I do love capturing my children. With three children and a dog, it seems like the house is always bustling with noise and activity. On this snowy January day, I really appreciated a quiet contemplative moment with my daughter. It was a friendly reminder to take a step back from the chaos and really appreciate all these moments I have with them while they are still young.

Artist statement: As I painted these Koi from a photograph, the water and fish came to life for me. Adding enough detail to show movement and reflection, yet enough blending to convey the nature of the water, was an absorbing challenge.
Specific medium: Oil paint on canvas
