Artist statement: As crazy, unorganized, and eclectic a person I am it may sound odd that I really enjoy minimalist style photography. Negative spaces, and simple subjects seem to give me a breath of calm that I often to not have in everyday life. The astute simplicity of one subject, black and white and some good texture or shadow is one of the ways I like to use photography for a more artistic approach. Is it brilliant and ground breaking? No, it certainly is not! But who said it had to be, to be fun for me?

Artist statement: There is always a learning curve with any hobby, and any new skill or equipment you pick up. For me this photo is a personal win. After picking up a vintage manual lens I had some learning to do and found focusing much more difficult than I expected, to make matters worse this lens creates more noise than a rock concert. This photo was one of the first few attempts out of many that I was able to focus with minimal noise and clarity on the subject after getting the lens.

Artist statement: Photography has been part of my life for over 40 years, and the only thing I am sure of is that everyone "sees" something different in every image, sometimes it aligns with the vision of the artist, and sometimes it is totally unique to the perspective of the person and their experiences. My hope is bring a smile to your face as you view my art and perhaps to inspire you to create something yourself!

Artist statement: Moving water has always been a fascination for me, this study a particular challenge. Apparent color nuances join depth with surface. As a watercolor, implied depth. The mid-day sunlight reflections provided me those darks and lights combinations I was searching for. Yellow hues reveal the impressions of the underwater rocks as my curiosity grew.

Artist statement: This photo was taken on a bright spring evening at the Inflatable Water Park in West Yarmouth, Cape Cod. As the park was not yet open for the season, my shooting position was over their tall secured fence. I was greeted by an explosion of color of the structures framed by a bright blue sky!

Artist statement: This photo was taken on a spring evening as a storm was approaching the Inflatable Water Park in West Yarmouth, Cape Cod. As the park was not yet open for the season, I was only able to capture the structures of the park from over their tall secured fences. I was struck by the stillness of the elements before Mother Nature opened up the sky.

$350.00

Artist statement: My paintings celebrate the sinuous fluidity of watercolor. I enjoy working with the vibrant luminosity of transparent pigments, and am sometimes surprised by the granulating effect they can produce. In "Hollyhock, Alcea rosea," I avoided that effect and sought, instead, to replicate the velvety texture of blossoms and to carefully detail the veined leaves. Although I often paint close-focus florals on a black background, I felt this regal image was more effectively viewed against pure white.

Freeman Farm in the Afternoon
Freeman Farm in the Afternoon
Judith Freeman Clark
$275.00

Selected for Exhibition
Artist statement: Transparent watercolor is my preferred medium, which I find well-suited to landscape paintings including both architectural elements with crisply accurate edges, and the softer details of grass and foliage. I paid careful attention to the color of the farmhouse in "Freeman Farm in the Afternoon," hoping to achieve the "just right" shade of dull red common to many rural buildings of the Federal period (1789-1840).
Specific medium: transparent watercolor

$200.00

Selected for Exhibition
Artist statement: Having studied illustration in Boston during the late 1960s, I find that some of my watercolor paintings continue to refer to that long-ago training. My painting "Daffodil Waltz" leans in the direction of formalized, decorative art although the asymmetry of the image contributes to an Art Nouveau feel which keeps it lively.
